Q. What happens when I request a DLN?

A. To obtain a DLN, contact Jack Haldeman. He will need the title and the sponsoring IFAS department. Due to the complexity of some titles, this is best done by email .

(This is the best time to tell us where in the EDIS menu system this document should appear. Doing it now will save time later on.)

Jack will check to make sure that this document has never been assigned a DLN. If it hasn't, he will assign a DLN and contact you.

The next step is to authorize this DLN to be edited. This is a manual step done at IT which only takes a couple of minutes and electronically associates the DLN to the specific sponsoring department. At this point the document can be submitted or edited by people who have authorization.
